Bruce Young

Bruce Young, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Young was recently a principal in Telverse Communications, which was acquired by Level 3 Communications. He also served as co-founder of Telmax Communications, later sold to Symmetricom, and was Co-founder of Inter/AM, later sold to Yamaha. He currently serves as Avita Management Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Young has held management and technical positions with LignUp, Xpeed Networks, Luxcom, SynOptics (BayNetworks), Motorola and General Electric, where he supported the initial NASA supercomputer initiatives. He has patents and publications in the fields of data communications, telecommunications and supercomputing.

Mr. Young has technical and advantage degrees from CSU Hayward, UC Santa Barbara, Claremont Men's College and an MS Mathematics from the University of Washington.


Dr. Trinh Huy

Huy Ngoc Trinh, M.D., AGAF, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Trinh played a key role in the development of the Liquid EMR software system, leading a number of his physicians colleagues at San Jose Gastroenterology (SJGI) in requirements gathering, testing and ultimately the production release of the software at SJGI. Because of his vision and leadership, Liquid EMR can rightly claim to be a system that was developed by medical professionals for medical professionals.

In 2008, Dr. Trinh was recognized as a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF), by which the American Gastroenterological Association honors superior professional achievement in clinical private or academic practice and in basic or clinical research. As a board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Trinh's research articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals including Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Journal of Hepatology.

Dr. Huy N. Trinh graduated with a BS degree in Chemistry with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley and received his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine.


Pierre Luu

Pierre Luu, Chief Technology and Information Officer

Mr. Luu has over 20 years of experience in integrating secured large scale image-based software and hardware systems for financial institutions. As a computer scientist with CSC Financial Group, he was the technical lead of the team that produced the first image statement system in the world for American Express, the first image keying system for travelers checks, the first off-shore image keying system for the credit card industry, the first Giro processing system in Europe for Robobank and the first fraud detection system via self-learning pattern recognition and clustering technology for Union Bank. In 2006, Mr. Luu won the CSC Worldwide Award for Technical Excellence for his work on the Fraud detection technology team.

In the latee 90s, Mr. Luu retained by Dr. Huy Trinh to computerize his medical office and move it to a paperless digital system. The principal requirements included ease and simplicity of use, reliability, compliance with record keeping and privacy laws, ability for electronic patient records to stand up in court and to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes for a doctor to prepare patient notes. Mr. Luu not only created the software that met those needs, but also manages to keep the cost of the software and its operation affordable for the offices of small medical practitioners. As a result, Dr. Trinh's immense satisfaction has created multiple referrals for the Liquid EMR software which is now deployed in over sixteen clinics ranging from surgical centers to urgent care and occupation medicine centers and primary care clinics.

Mr. Luu received an MS degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University and a BS degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.


Mike Meltzer

Mike Meltzer,
V.P., Business Development

Mr. Meltzer has held positions in software development, customer management, systems analysis, project management and staff management with several companies including Burroughs Corporation, Philips General Business Systems, Vision Verilag, GMBH and National Semiconductor Corporation. As a member of the technical staff at National Semiconductor, Mr. Meltzer was the project lead for a heuristic system using case based reasoning to reduce and eliminate manufacturing process defects. His work in this field has been published in academic books and journals and he was a featured speaker at the first worldwide conference on case based reasoning held in Madrid, Spain, in 2004.

Mr. Meltzer holds a B.S. degree in Business Management from Golden Gate University.


Bill Walton

Bill Walton, Information Systems Manager

Mr. Walton has a broad background of technical, project management and information systems experience in multiple industries. He has worked in government as well as in software, energy management, human resources consulting and semiconductor companies. Following early work in Civil and Traffic engineering, Mr. Walton developed data acquisition and process control software and motor vehicle emission testing systems, and held positions in facilities project management and energy management system project management. His interest in process automation and collaboration technology, combined with strong hands-on diagnostic and testing experience contributed to a successful implementation of office automation technology for National Semiconductor Corporation.

Mr. Walton holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Humboldt State University
